Flowers!

Just a few flowers we made in class today. The children wrote information and facts about the different parts of the plant that we learnt about this week. 

Oral - Jadyn

Jadyn was the last person to do his oral and he ended our orals off with a great oral. He spoke so well and told lovely stories. He spoke about when he was born he got a blanket that was so cuddly, snuggly, and warm. He had a lovely book that he told us about. His parents had it made when he turned 1. The books was the story of his first year of life. He said that he loves Noddy because he is a very good actor. His favourite item was left for last. it was a lovely frame with a picture of Jadyn and sparkles in it.

Oral - Gabriel

Today it was Gabriel's turn to do his oral. He told us some fun stories about his items that he brought. He had lots of photos to show us. He showed us a photo of himself in an incubator with a light in it, he explained that he had a vitamin k deficiency that is why he had to have the light on him. He had a Winnie the Pooh stuffed toy that used to keep him warm. He went to Canada and someone in Canada gave him a blanket and stuffed dog to keep him warm on the long flight home. His favouritefood is eggy toast, tuna and mayo, and avo. His favourite dessert is chocolate ice cream which he brought for the class to share.

Oral - Gabriella

Gabriella did a great job today with her oral. She showed us 5 special items that she brought:
1. A baby carrier that her mom used when she was tiny.
2. A blanket that comes all the way from India.
3. Valentines day heart that she made at Forever Friends for her mom.
4. A Winnie the Pooh bag that her brother wheeled her around in.
5. Her favourite treats - Rainbow cupcakes. She brought us some to taste.

Botanical Gardens

On Friday 20 February. Mel and I took the children to The Botanical Gardens to look at the flowers. We have been learning about flowers and the parts of the flower. It was loads of fun and very interesting to see all the different types of flowers. We went to the orchard house and saw the different colours and types of orchards. We also went into the sensory garden where the children got to explore all their different senses. They tasted and smelt the herbs in the herb garden. We stopped at the Fern garden and the children had the opportunity to look at all the different ferns. They drew some of them. After we walked around we had lunch on the grass and they got to feed the ducks and birds. We had loads of fun. 

Oral - Nehal

Today it was Nehal's turn to do his oral. He did a great job. He told us lovely stories about his items that he brought to show us. He had baby shoes that he said he always wore. He did not want to ever take them off. He showed us a cap from his pre-primary school and a bag from Toptots. His favourite food is strawberries and he brought us some to taste. His favourite colour is red and he always colours everything in red. When he was 6 years old he asked his parents for a baby brother. He was very happy and excited when his baby brother was born.

Oral - Kiera

Kiera did her oral today. She spoke about her doodoo night gown that she sleeps with at night. She showed us a few photos of her when she was a baby. She also had her first tooth that fell out to show the class. She brought in her teddy that her great gran gave her. She wants to hand it down to her children one day.

Priyesh got a certificate for Fantastic Homework! He always has his homework done neatly and always has it ready to mark the next day.

Oral - Zahra

Zahra did a good oral today on herself. She showed us lots of photos from when she was born. She even had an ultrasound photo. Zahra was born in Pietermartizburg and moved to Cape Town when she was 3 weeks old. She said it was very cold so her parents bought her a pink blanket. Zahra told us that when she was learning to walk, she took a piece of pizza from the table. It was chicken tikka which was her favourite. Now her favourite is Margarita, she even brought some for the class to taste!

Oral - Melissa

Melissa did her oral today. She spoke about when she was born. She said she was born at 21:30. Her parents brought her a blanket to keep her warm. She brought this blanket to show the class. he also had some shoes that she wore when she learnt how to walk. she showed us her preschool uniform from Little Chiefs.

Oral - Aara

Today was Aara's turn to do her oral. She showed us some items that she brought:

• A dress and nightie from when she was 2 years old and
• Some photos of her when she was a baby

Oral - Brandon

Brandon did his oral today on himself. He brought in a few items from when he was a baby. He had a big stuffed dog that used to keep him warm in winter. His brother used to steal it when he lost his own. He showed us a few photos and his favourite shirt and pants. Well done Brandon
